What is an “EPP code” or an “Authorization Code”?

Posted on July 31, 2009

The EPP key (“Authorization code” or “Auth Code”) is one of the safeguards against unauthorized transfers of domain name registrations and it protects your rights as a domain owner. This code is required when transferring .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info and .us domain names. It is not possible to initiate a domain name transfer for these domains without an EPP code.  EPP Codes are found individually for each domain from the registrar that currently holds the domain.

What Our Clients Are Saying...

“Green Media Design were great. They provided a very efficient and responsive service, responding to our feedback very promptly - keeping us well informed about the project. Good communication is always so important but becomes critical when working in different countries with a large time zone change... Green Media Design's communication really made the whole process very easy. They delivered more than we had specified in the brief and were able to accommodate our mid-project tweeks without hesitation. We would definitely use them again. Thanks!”
