Once the necessary domain transfer security measures have been met and the transfer has been acknowledged and approved by the originating registrar, the domain transfer will be complete in 7 to 9 days.

Domain lock is a status which prevents a domain from being transferred to another register without authorization.  Domains cannot be transferred when domain lock is enabled.  In order to transfer a domain, be sure to log into the current registrar’s site and turn off domain locking on the domain you would like to transfer.
