WordPress organizes it’s backend administrative system very well and allows for excellent flexibility, but selecting and developing your online brand is really up to you… and that’s all about getting the right theme.  It’s important to realize that not all themes are built with the same quality of code, and certain not every theme is built with the same intended purpose or audience.  Different types of companies and organizations require themes that do different things.  It’s crucial that you take a hard look at your online goals and your preferences about how you want to market online when you make the decision of which theme to work with.  Some themes are more tailored to blogging and social media, incorporating tools that work well for that audience.  Other themes introduce features that appeal to business more who are looking to highlight products and other information.

While we routinely do work on custom themes with clients, Green Media prefers to work with several carefully selected commercial WordPress themes for several reasons:

2. Commercial themes are supported by their developers.  If problems arise, there is support staff that can help correct issues.  Additionally, some themes are in perpetual active development, and are constantly being improved.
